Cruise Ship Facilities

A comprehensive marketing campaign is being undertaken to increase the number of cruise ship visits to Barrow in Furness from the current level of 2 per year to 7 per year by 2010. Decisions will then be taken on increasing berthing facilities to take vessels beyond 210m length.

Associated British Ports (www.abports.co.uk)  facilities could bring thousands of extra visitors a year to Barrow and South Lakeland. Cumbria Tourist Board and Associated British Ports have already begun marketing the new facilities as expected to be completed by December 2008.
