Do you want to be a sports coach?

Stuart Meredith, a Sports Hub Administrator at Furness College is looking to increase the number of sport coaches and volunteers and to put on courses and workshops for coaches/volunteers/clubs in the local area and the college. This also includes anyone who is a keen sports person or has knowledge of a sport and wishes to pass on their knowledge by becoming a coach. With this in mind he hopes to increase and develop the number of coaches and volunteers in the area. He will also be working closely with the Barrow Sports Council Team and the Sports Development Officer – Chris Athersmith. In regards to putting on workshops / courses, he plans to help clubs work towards the club mark accreditation.

To help find out what Stuart can do for you as coaches, volunteers or new comers he has put together a questionnaire. This questionnaire asks about information about what qualifications you have and/or what courses you would like to see run locally. With this information he will be able to put on courses which people greatly need/want in this area, and if a club is short on coaches/volunteers this information will help to see who would be interested in helping out.

To download the questionnaire go to http://www.barrowsportscouncil.org.uk/courses.php and email it to stuart.meredith@furness.ac.uk

Please pass this information on to coaches, volunteers and/or anyone who is interested in becoming a coach at your club/s.
